Yanks activate Bird off DL, option Austin
Greg Bird defiantly vowed that his season was not over following surgery on his right ankle in July, and the first baseman made good on that promise as he re-joined the Yankees’ active roster for Saturday’s game against the Mariners at Yankee Stadium.
