J.D. Martinez is officially the newest member of the Red Sox. A week after agreeing to terms with Martinez, Boston finalized a five-year, $110 million contract with the slugger Monday morning during a news conference at JetBlue Park at Fenway South. Martinez will wear No. 28, and he is expected to see time at outfield and designated hitter.
