White Sox win season series vs. MLB’s best
The rebuilding White Sox scored early and often against Boston to seal a 4-3 season series win against baseball’s best team. Tim Anderson homered in the first inning off Red Sox starter Brian Johnson, who only recorded four outs, and added two doubles and scored twice. Every Chicago starter recorded at least one hit, including Daniel Palka, who homered a few pitches after a deep drive that was originally ruled a homer was called foul. James Shields held the Red Sox’s potent offense to four hits over six sharp innings.
