Twins weather pair of rain delays to beat KC
Joe Mauer and Miguel Sano logged early run-scoring hits and Sano made a run-saving play on defense before the Twins rallied with a decisive two-run fifth inning in a series opener that was twice delayed by rain. Salvador Perez hit his 19th homer — a two-run jack — in the third and the Royals scored twice in the top of the fifth, taking a short-lived lead on Lucas Duda’s sacrifice fly.
