Tribe hangs on to win after Cookie dominates
Melky Cabrera got the Tribe going with a three-run homer in the first, and Carlos Carrasco had plenty of support before throwing a pitch at Guaranteed Rate Field. Cleveland scored six runs in the first two frames against White Sox starter Dylan Covey, and Carrasco got off to a slow start before retiring the final 16 batters he faced. Hector Santiago tossed 3 2/3 sterling innings to preserve the Chicago bullpen, and the Sox rallied for four runs in the ninth, but Cody Allen came in to lock down a win.
