Thumb sprain keeps Cespedes out of lineup
Yoenis Cespedes sprained his right thumb on Wednesday and was not in the A’s lineup on Thursday, but manager Bob Melvin said he could potentially come off the bench in Thursday’s series finale against the Astros. There is a good chance, Melvin added, that Cespedes will start Friday in Texas.
