Former NFL coach Dennis Green probably had no idea his rant after a loss in 2005 would be used years later as a barometer for perceived success — and yet, here we are. Across the sports world, many still use Green’s “they are who we thought they were!” as shorthand for a team outperforming expectations. That’s been the case early on in the 2014-15 season as we pick eight teams that are outperforming their preseason expectations.
