Surging Kipnis slugs Clevinger, Tribe past Twins

Jason Kipnis slugged a go-ahead three-run homer and Mike Clevinger struck out nine over 6 2/3 innings to lead the Indians over the Twins. Ehire Adrianza’s two-run home run off Clevinger in the fifth gave Minnesota a brief lead, but Cleveland chased Twins starter Jake Odorizzi in a four-run sixth that included a game-tying single from Yonder Alonso. The win gave the Indians a victory in the season series between the two clubs.
