Springer swats his way to MVP honors

They renamed the Fall Classic’s individual honor the Willie Mays Most Valuable Player Award this year. And although there was no stipulation that the prize must go to a dynamic center fielder in the vein of Mays, by the time the Astros clinched their first championship title in franchise history with their 5-1 victory over the Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night, there was no doubt that their dynamic center fielder, George Springer, had earned the honor.
