Source: Seahawks waive Lynch in favor of Geno

The Seahawks waived quarterback Paxton Lynch on Friday, a source confirmed to ESPN, leaving the backup role behind starter Russell Wilson to Geno Smith — as long as tests on Smith’s knee don’t reveal a serious injury.
