Royals extend qualifying offer to Shields
The Royals have extended a one-year, $15.3 million qualifying offer to pitcher James Shields for 2015. Shields has seven days to accept the offer, but it’s expected that he’ll test the free-agent market, searching for a lucrative multiyear contract that likely will be out of the Royals’ range.
