Red Wings goalie Howard placed on injured reserve

Detroit Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard was placed on injured reserve Sunday, the Red Wings announced. Goalie Tom McCollum was recalled from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.

Howard left the game Saturday against the Washington Capitals…
