Postseason schedule set; Fall Classic opens Oct. 21

MLB announced a shortened postseason schedule on Friday, starting it on Sept. 30 with the American League Wild Card Game and the National League equivalent coming a day later. The 110th World Series will get underway in an AL city to be determined on Oct. 21 — the first Tuesday start since 1990.
