Paxton K’s 8, goes 7 scoreless in DL return
James Paxton returned from the disabled list on Monday and put up a healthy line of seven innings pitched, eight strikeouts and no walks on 82 pitches in his return from the disabled list and powering Seattle to a 2-0 shutout of Houston. The victory trimmed the Astros’ lead over the Mariners in the American League West to three games. Houston starter Gerrit Cole carried a no-hit bid into the sixth inning, but lost it on a two-out single by Jean Segura, who later scored on a deciding Nelson Cruz two-RBI double.
