O’s rally late to claim Battle of the Beltways
Two pitches into the seventh inning on Monday night at Nationals Park, J.J. Hardy started a rally. The O’s shortstop ripped a double into the left-field corner. Ryan Flaherty followed with a double to center. Baltimore came alive and rode a three-run spurt in the frame to a 7-3 victory against the Nationals in the makeup of a July 8 rainout, as the Orioles won three of four from Washington in the Battle of the Beltways season series.
