Offense unable to back Fulmer’s strong start

Trevor Williams outdueled Michael Fulmer with six hitless innings despite five walks, allowing Gregory Polanco’s first-inning RBI double to stand as the lone run as the Pirates took a 1-0 win over the Tigers in the opener of a day-night doubleheader Sunday at Comerica Park.
