Morton, Astros snap Yanks’ 9-game streak
Staked to a 2-0 lead by early RBIs from Carlos Correa and Yuli Gurriel, Charlie Morton held the Yankees hitless for 5 1/3 innings and left a scoreless game after allowing two hits and striking out 10 over 7 2/3. He was charged with a run when the bullpen allowed an inherited baserunner to score, but the lead was intact after eight and Ken Giles fanned three in a scoreless ninth for the save as the Astros edged the Yanks in a rematch of last fall’s ALCS.
