Mike Pettine let Shanahan leave to avoid ‘dark cloud’

Despite a strong first season together, Mike Pettine and Kyle Shanahan’s partnership was not long for the Browns. Pettine said Thursday that when Shanahan wanted to leave, the decision was easy.
