Mets’ outfield search complicated by qualifying offers

Unrestricted free agency has yet to begin, but one outfielder already has dropped off the Mets’ shopping list. When the Rockies made Michael Cuddyer a qualifying offer on Monday, attaching Draft pick compensation to him if he declines the $15.3 million deal and signs somewhere other than Colorado, it decimated New York’s interest in him.
