Mariners make waiver claim on utility infielder Rivero

Carlos Rivero, a 26-year-old infielder from Venezuela, was claimed by the Mariners off waivers from the Red Sox on Monday. Rivero made his Major League debut in 2014 and went 4-for-7 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs in four games in the final month for Boston.
