Mariners make history with 1st-inning cycle

Mitch Haniger, Denard Span, Jean Segura and Nelson Cruz hit for the cycle in reverse order to start the Mariners’ win against Justin Verlander and the Astros. Verlander allowed six runs over two innings before he was ejected after the top of the second. Haniger, Span and Segura each finished a hit shy of the cycle and had at least three hits. Marwin Gonzalez and Tony Kemp each drove in two for Houston.
