Lopez turns in best start for KC in sweep of O’s
The Royals used sterling starting pitching to key a sweep of the Orioles on Sunday. Jorge Lopez tossed seven innings of one-run ball — allowing a solo homer to Jonathan Villar — and struck out eight in his second career win as a starter. David Hess wasn’t sharp for the Orioles, allowing the Royals to break out in the third thanks to two errors on pickoff attempts. Lopez left with a four-run lead, which ballooned after Meibrys Viloria doubled in two with his first career hit.
