Laureano’s 1st hit, huge assist lift A’s in 13th

Ramon Laureano will have Major League debut to tell his grandchildren about someday. After beginning the game 0-for-4, Laureano’s first big league hit was a walk-off single to right to score Nick Martini from second in the 13th inning as the A’s defeated the Tigers, 1-0, on Friday night at the Coliseum. Laureano’s walk-off came after he took away a runner in scoring position from the Tigers in the top of the 13th, throwing out Jose Iglesias at third when Iglesias stole second and tried to advance further after Jonathan Lucroy’s throw went into center field. The play stood upon replay review, sending the A’s to bat in the bottom of the frame.
