Kopech shows flashes of brilliance in 1st win
Hall of Famer Alan Trammell’s No. 3 was retired by the Tigers prior to Sunday’s game, but White Sox prospect Michael Kopech took the hill on the opposite end of the career spectrum. Kopech showed flashes of dominance to earn his first Major League win. The righty allowed one run in six innings, with Daniel Palka and Avisail Garcia providing plenty of offense in a four-run third inning. Detroit countered with veteran Jordan Zimmermann, but he struggled to miss bats while pounding the zone for a 75-percent strike rate.
