KC bats’ outburst gives Junis 1st W since May
Jakob Junis got his first win since May 18, ending a 10-start winless run, against the White Sox. The Royals offense was sparked by Alex Gordon, who homered and had four RBIs. Kansas City scored five in the fifth inning, four of which were charged to Chicago starter Dylan Covey. The White Sox right-hander allowed seven runs (four earned). Junis cruised through five innings, but the South Siders got him for three runs in the sixth and ended his start after 5 2/3.
