Johnson lands on DL as Yanks call up Leroux
Kelly Johnson was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Yankees on Wednesday with a strained left groin. Johnson, primarily an infielder, made his first Major League start in right field Tuesday night and injured his groin while attempting to beat out a groundout in the Yankees’ 2-1 victory over Texas. Chris Leroux, a right-handed reliever, was selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to replace Johnson on the active roster.
