Hoyer reflects on Verlander talks, Martin deal

The Cubs talked to the Tigers about possibly acquiring pitcher Justin Verlander, but Chicago general manager Jed Hoyer said Friday that it appeared that Detroit had a deal with Houston and wasn’t going to budge.
