History in mind, Stanton heated after Fiers HBP

Tempers flared at Comerica Park on Monday night as the Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton and Tigers right-hander Mike Fiers exchanged words after a pitch from Fiers hit Stanton on the left elbow in the top of the third inning. Stanton’s 2014 season was derailed that September when the slugger, then a member of the Marlins, was hit in the face by a pitch from Fiers, then with the Brewers.
