Hechavarria DFA’d as Rays add Pham to roster

The Rays announced a series of transactions on Wednesday, most notably the move to designate shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria for assignment. The club also activated right-hander Jake Faria from the 60-day disabled list and added to its roster outfielder Tommy Pham, who was acquired in a deal with the Cardinals before Tuesday’s non-waiver Trade Deadline. Additionally, right-hander Andrew Kittredge was optioned to Triple-A Durham.
