Heaney outduels Verlander, earns 1st road W

Andrew Heaney finally conquered his road woes, firing six scoreless innings to outduel Justin Verlander and lead the Angels to a 5-2 win in Thursday night’s series opener at Minute Maid Park. Heaney held the Astros to five hits while walking one and striking out six, earning his first road victory since Sept. 2, 2015. Heaney and Verlander matched each other with five scoreless innings before the Angels broke the stalemate in a four-run sixth.
