Hammel leads way in shutout, wins first with A’s

The A’s did just enough for a second straight night against the Rays on Tuesday, exiting with a 3-0 victory in Oakland to maintain baseball’s best record for a 49th consecutive day. That Jason Hammel was the winning pitcher was of equal importance.
