Grandy’s HRs, Grichuk’s catch lift Blue Jays

Curtis Granderson launched a pair homers off Justin Verlander and hit an odd foul pop in his first at-bat that never landed as the Blue Jays rolled in the series opener. Randal Grichuk, who made a sensational home-run saving catch in the ninth, added an insurance homer — a two-run jack that traveled a projected 471 feet according to Statcast — in the eighth after Granderson’s second blast was the go-ahead hit in the seventh. Alex Bregman hit his 12th homer for the Astros.
