Gorkys’ walk-off hit ends SF’s duel with D-backs

Pinch-hitter Gorkys Hernandez’s ninth-inning single snapped a scoreless tie Tuesday night and gave the Giants a 1-0 victory over the D-backs at AT&T Park. San Francisco ace Madison Bumgarner and Arizona starter Clay Buchholz each tossed seven scoreless innings. D-backs left-hander Jake Diekman gave up the game-winning hit to Hernandez, which came after a Steven Duggar walk and Nick Hundley single. Arizona has been shut out for 23 consecutive innings, including each of the first two games of the series in San Francisco.
