Gonzales goes 9 in Seattle’s 5th straight win

The Mariners returned home with a bang on Friday night as Mitch Haniger and Mike Zunino supplied the fireworks and Marco Gonzales hurled the first complete game of his career in a 4-1 win over the Royals to extend their winning streak to five games. With Houston losing at Tampa Bay, the Mariners moved back within 2 1/2 games of the Astros in the American League West at 52-31. Gonzales bounced back from losses to the Yankees and Red Sox on the last road trip with a sterling six-hit performance.
