Goldschmidt hit on left hand by Frieri pitch
The D-backs may not have only lost their game against the Pirates on Friday night — they may have also lost their All-Star first baseman. Pirates pitcher Ernesto Frieri hit Paul Goldschmidt in the left hand with a 93-mph fastball in the ninth inning of the D-backs’ 9-4 loss.
