D-backs top Royals, ready for NL Wild Card

Jeremy Hazelbaker hit a three-run homer and Chris Iannetta went deep as the D-backs warmed-up for Wednesday’s NL Wild Card Game against the Rockies with a win over the Royals in the regular season finale for both clubs. Jason Vargas fell short in his bid for his 19th victory for the Royals, who got a home run from Eric Hosmer, who along with Mike Moustakas, Alcides Escobar and Lorenzo Cain — who are impending free agents — may have played their last game for the Royals.
