Chen stays dominant at home as Fish snap skid

Wei-Yin Chen went 5 2/3 scoreless innings as the Marlins edged the Cardinals in the series opener. Chen lowered his home ERA to 1.94 after limiting the Cardinals to one hit. Starlin Castro homered off Luke Weaver, who was the tough-luck loser despite going six innings. Closer Kyle Barraclough’s struggles continued in the ninth, but Javy Guerra got a double play with the bases loaded to end the game. Marcell Ozuna collected three hits in his return to Miami.
