Cave’s 1st career slam powers sweep of Royals

Jake Cave’s grand slam powered the Twins past the Royals on Sunday. Cave took a 3-2 fastball from Danny Duffy deep in the second inning to give Minnesota the lead. Lucas Duda (two-run homer) and Whit Merrifield (4-for-5, HR) kept Kansas close, but the Twins’ bullpen escaped jams in the fifth, eighth, and ninth innings to seal a close win.
