Carpenter’s NL-leading 30th HR lifts Cardinals

Matt Carpenter and Paul DeJong went deep to erase a late two-run deficit and even the series. Carpenter’s National League-leading 30th homer came in the eighth, while DeJong’s game-tying two-run shot in the seventh was the lone blemish for Marlins rookie Pablo Lopez. Miles Mikolas pitched seven innings for the win and Bud Norris picked up his 22nd save.
