CarGo stays hot with 2-run homer vs. Cards
Carlos Gonzalez had a single, a key walk and a two-run homer in Tuesday night’s 6-3 victory over the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. Gonzalez’s 13th homer of the season, in the seventh off John Brebbia, supported righty John Gray (9-7), who finished 7 1/3 innings with four hits and three runs (two earned). He gave up a homer to Matt Carpenter, which set a Cardinals franchise record for leadoff long balls. Charlie Blackmon extended his hit streak to 13 games with a two-run shot off Cards starter Jack Flaherty (4-6).
