Cabrera using offseason to address back issue
The radiating pain Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera felt in his hips and legs at the plate this season is called radicular pain, or nerve-root pain, resulting from the pressure his herniated disks are putting on his spinal cord. His lack of explosion is the result of a neurological deficit caused by that same pressure. It’s scary. It feels like it would threaten a career. But with proper care and a little luck, it won’t.
