Bucs top Reds in extras to win final game of ’18
Rookie Pablo Reyes hit a flare to right field, hustled to third when the Reds booted the ball around and scored on a wild pitch by reliever Jackson Stephens to top Cincinnati in the final game of the regular season Sunday. Closer Felipe Vazquez, the Pirates’ lone 2018 All-Star, finished the season with his 37th save. In a no-decision in his first start since Aug. 21, Reds starter Sal Romano pitched five innings and looked good as he allowed two earned runs and three hits with one walk and one strikeout. Romano mostly cruised through his first four innings as he retired 11 of 13 batters.
