Big game from bats boosts Cubs’ NL Central lead

Anthony Rizzo belted an insurance homer in the eighth for his 1,000th hit with the Cubs and Ben Zobrist logged a go-ahead double in the seventh in the series opener. Jon Lester had an all-around game in a no-decision with a two-run single and a big pickoff. Michael Conforto and Kevin Plawecki belted homers for the Mets, who left the bases loaded in the ninth.
