Betts placed on DL with left abdominal strain

Prior to Friday’s game against the Astros, right fielder Mookie Betts was placed on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Tuesday) with a left abdominal strain, the Red Sox announced. A corresponding move to replace Betts on the roster will be made in advance of Saturday’s game in Houston.
