Betts, J.D. power late Red Sox rally; lead 8 1/2
Mookie Betts capped a four-run seventh inning with his 29th home run, and then J.D. Martinez hit his 39th in a five-run ninth to beat the White Sox. The Red Sox win puts them 8 1/2 games up on the Yankees in the American League East. Lucas Giolito allowed one run over 6 1/3 innings and didn’t allow a hit until the fifth for the White Sox.
