Behind Wood’s gem, Braves keep pace in WC race

After Evan Gattis provided support with a solo home run, Alex Wood willed the Braves to a 1-0 victory Sunday evening at Turner Field. Wood scattered five hits over eight scoreless innings and matched a career high with 12 strikeouts. Tthe Braves moved to within six games of the first-place Nationals. They are also just 1 1/2 games back in the race for the National League’s second Wild Card entry.
