Baez hurt in collision, but Cubs say he’s OK

Javier Baez, who has been the Cubs’ everyday shortstop since Addison Russell was hurt, had to come out of Sunday’s 5-1 loss to the Braves in the third inning after sliding head-first into second base. They also said that the initial reports were good and he’d join the club Monday in Pittsburgh, wheere the Cubs open a three-game series with the Pirates.
