Back tightness causes J.D. to exit in 8th

Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez exited Thursday’s 7-2 loss to the Tigers in the top of the eighth inning with tightness in his back, but the hope is that he will return to the lineup on Friday for the start of a three-game series against the White Sox.
