A’s back Blackburn’s dominant debut vs. Royals

Paul Blackburn held the Royals to one run on three hits over six innings in his season debut, and the A’s put him in the win column with a tiebreaking three-run sixth inning that started with Matt Chapman’s RBI double off the wall. Matt Olson hit his 13th home run for Oakland, while Alcides Escobar’s solo shot was Kansas City’s only damage.
