A’s acquire righty reliever Gearrin from Texas

The A’s have acquired right-handed pitcher Cory Gearrin from the Texas Rangers for Minor League right-handed pitchers Abdiel Mendoza and Teodoro Ortega, the club announced on Friday. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A’s transferred right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn to the 60-day disabled list.
